Hello lovelies! Do you ever feel like the first hours of the day have such a big impact on the whole day? How does the day end up being, when you are rushing in the morning, trying to multitask, find what you need and on top of that it feels like for every minute – 5 minutes go by.
Today I want to share 5 things you should do before bed in the evening, so that you can have a relaxing morning and a good start of the day!
NIGHT TIME ROUTINE IN 5 STEPS
1 Tidy up the house
There is something so calming to wake up in a house that has been cleaned. Give yourself the pleasure of this every day, by spending 10min in the evening putting everything back in place. I feel that having misplaced clothes, books and dishes makes the house seem cluttered and dirty. By cleaning the house a bit, you will be ready for the day in the morning and won’t have to look for misplaced items.
2 Lay out clothes to wear tomorrow & have bag ready
Do you sometimes waste time in the morning just because you can’t find something, or can’t decide what to wear as nothing seem to fit right? I know, most of the days I used to feel like this. But ever since I pack my bag and lay out clothes the night before – the mornings have become much more enjoyable.
EXTRA TIP: Based o the schedule that you have, choose a time you go to bed daily, and what time you wake up. Try sticking to the time, and after a couple of weeks you will see that your body naturally will be ready to go to bed, and wake up even before the alarm goes off.
3 Write down the schedule / to do for next day
Some days are filled with plans, and other days are more chill. And when I know I have to do a lot, I like to plan the day before and make sure that I have written down what is important, as well as to-do list for the next day. This gives a nice overview of the day ahead and makes you more prepared.
4 Reduce phone time 1h before night
This was hard to incorporate, because I am so used to sitting on my phone until I fall asleep next to it. But it is so unsustainable and the mind does not get prepared for night if you sit on the white screen. By leaving the phone and focusing on the other things above in this list, you can easily survive without it the whole hour before bedtime.
5 Read a book, meditate, do yoga or something other that relaxes you
Now that the phone is away, it is time to do something peaceful and make the body and mind ready for the sleep. I usually read a book for 30 minutes or meditate. If you do yoga – go for it! Maybe you like journaling in the evening before bed, just whatever makes your mind wind down.
So, all of these steps don’t take that long. it is really up to you to decide which steps you want to include. I like to leave my phone away, tidy the house for 15 minutes, lay down the clothes I need and figure out my bag. Then I schedule the day, read a book, and I am ready for bed. Hope these tips help you as much as they have helped me have a more relaxing night, and amazing mornings!
