Today I want to share my thoughts on self care routine, and a video, where I try someone’s self care routine that I found on the internet. It was so much fun, and really made me think how I should implement some things in my life and change drastically.
the story behind my self care routine
Honestly I wish I was the person who has the weekends free or semi-free, and they can spend the Sunday doing self care or whatever they want. I mostly work on the weekends, and study on weekdays, so I ain’t got no time for a full day of self care. I would say I have an hour or 1,5 h spread across the week. So I don’t really do as much as I would like to. First of all, I’d love a bathtub, but that’s the goal for the next apartment.
My self care routine involves a face mask, full body scrub and journaling about the week – what were the highlights, the bad parts and what I’d like to do the following week.
The video was so much fun to film, because I was having quite a down day and not feeling best. And this self care routine included things that I don’t count in my self care. The breakdown of the self care routine that I found:
- do nothing for 5 minutes
- do a yoga flow
- go outside and take a short walk in a park
- dance to one song
- put on a face mask while studying
- write freely what’s on your mind
- do a mini declutter

After making this video, my view on self care has changed so much. I will really consider implementing more time on self care that focuses on body and mind. And also get myself more out of the house now that the weather is slowly getting better.
