The year is approaching the end, and I am very reluctant to seeing New Year goals. It is hard to change habits or anything in life, but today I want to share with you this simple worksheet that will help with goal setting.
Monthly goals instead of year goals is the way to go! 🗓️
Before 2019 I decided that I would stop with the New Year goals, because I knew that years after years they would not work. I decided to start small and focus mostly on habits this year. One way how I achieved my goals (like reading 1-2 books a month, doing yoga challenge, going to gym more) was because I had a different focus each month. One month I would read 30 minutes in the evening, the other month I would swap that for yoga challenge. This way I didn’t feel so overwhelmed and could change my goals based on my workload, university deadlines and overall mental state.
Some months were very low, so I focused on self care instead. Now that I look back at each month, I can see that in some way I grew and developed on a slower yet very sustainable pace. Hope you give it a try for year 2020.
Goal Setting Worksheet – Just Save As Image 🙂
One thing that I want to share with you is SMART goals. They stand for:
S – specific;
M – measurable;
A – achievable;
R – realistic;
T – time-bound.
This is important to know because your goals should be similar to this. Instead of saying ‘I want to lose weight’, it should be more like this: ‘I want to lose 2 kg in the period of 2 months’. This way you know the deadline, and how to measure it, as well as the goal which you can reach.
Further, the smaller steps are what are the hardest. Being consistent is the base of almost anything, so make sure to stay disciplined during those 2 months. Another tip is to set a plan for the goal. Going further with the example of losing 2kg in 2 months, we can set a plan to eat more greens, cut down on sugar, and exercise every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as Sunday pilates class. Make it so that it works for your schedule and you don’t feel too pushed, as it will make you unmotivated.
Thank you for reading this far! As a thank you I want to share a photo of this cute doggo !
